Project Manager, Linear Infrastructure

We are looking for a driven and collaborative Project Manager in Vancouver to join our team committed to leading projects and building relationships across Lower Mainland, BC. In this role, you will be part of a team of experts who lead the project management of infrastructure projects of a varying scope and complexity for municipal and provincial clients. This opportunity will enable the right candidate to work on impactful and meaningful projects that aligns with their own personal and cultural values and reflects the needs of the communities that we serve. The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise leading the planning, design and construction of linear infrastructure projects including highways, urban roadways, bridges, water and wastewater, and other civil works.
Requirements
- A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
- 5 - 7 years of project management experience, representing owners in the delivery of linear infrastructure projects
- Demonstrable experience in the initiation, planning and delivery of complex infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of best practice Project Management methodologies and procedures within a PMO environment
- Effective client management and people management skills matched with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client and technical issues.
- Detail oriented leader with the ability to work in a process driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
Nice To Haves
- EIT/P.Eng. Designation or PMP designation are an asset
Responsibilities
- Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives
- Lead programs or work and infrastructure projects, varying in size and scope.
- Manage all stakeholders including both clients and consultants
- Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues
- Select and organize project teams and establish levels of authority and lines of communication
- Lead the control of project related documents and deliver all work in accordance and compliance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management System and procedures
- Chair project and site meetings, find resolution to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders
- Maintain contact with existing and prospective clients and respond to business development and sales opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal or Regional Vice President
- Report on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports
- Provide oversight and leadership to the change management process, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents
