About The Position

The Thrasher Group is a multi-disciplinary firm growing throughout the Mid-Atlantic over the past 40 years. Our team is composed of professionals in civil engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, and field services with a passion for the work we do. Our Land Development team works on a large variety of projects for both public and private clients including commercial development, residential development, industrial development, public improvement projects, reclamation projects, and special projects focused on outdoor recreation and tourism. As our energy practice continues to grow, we are also supporting civil site development for energy infrastructure clients across the region. We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team to manage projects from concept to completion.

Requirements

  • BS from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering; other engineering degrees will be considered based on relevant experience and qualifications.
  • PE certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5–15 years of experience preferred
  • experience with energy infrastructure or utility-scale site development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of construction plans; perform or review calculations for design, grade lines, alignments, and drainage.
  • Oversee preparation of plans for permitting and construction of land development and energy infrastructure projects, including design, layout, grading, drainage, and E&S controls.
  • Support civil site design for energy projects such as solar farms, substations, battery energy storage systems, and utility corridors.
  • Prepare detailed project cost estimates.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Assist clients with bidding and construction administration.
  • Work with construction inspection personnel, as required, and review daily field reports to ensure that contracted work accomplishes the intent of the contract documents.
  • Coordinate and maintain all aspects of project management including client communication, financial management, and internal/external team coordination.
  • Participate in business development activities such as client meetings, proposals, RFQ submissions, and strategic planning with the division leader and marketing staff, including pursuit of energy sector clients and opportunities.
