About The Position

A Project Manager leads projects through the full project life cycle, ensuring delivery within defined scope, schedule, and resource constraints. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages risks and progress, and ensures alignment with the University’s priorities and stakeholder expectations. This position will support the new Student Information System (SIS)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program in IT Development.

Requirements

  • Strong technical experience with subject matter expertise across multiple systems, processes, or products
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, or hybrid frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or CSPO.
  • 5-6+ years of project management or related professional experience is required.
  • Experience in change or release management, preferably on a large, cross-institutional level.
  • Strong sense of ownership and personal accountability.
  • Excellent communicator who can connect executive leadership, business units, and technical teams.
  • Strong relationship-builder who is comfortable coordinating across departments and organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English to support professional correspondence and collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal and public communication skills to represent Liberty University in a professional manner.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple cross-functional areas at once.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and relevant project/program management tools.
  • Adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Positive, collaborative, and able to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to assess situations, evaluate information, and solve both routine and complex problems using sound judgment.
  • Frequently required to perform desk-based work, including computer use and data entry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in meetings and collaborative settings, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position

Responsibilities

  • Own organizational readiness and adoption for Liberty's multi-year SIS/ERP replacement effort.
  • Establish the SIS/ERP program's change management framework.
  • Create and implement stakeholder engagement plan.
  • Establish and manage governance and accountability for decision making and committee establishment.
  • Coordinate readiness activities with development teams and departments.
  • Create and iterate through impact assessment process.
  • Define adoption risk categories and track mitigation plans.
  • Build a communication strategy and calendar in collaboration with communications team across the university.
  • Define readiness KPIs and scorecard criteria. Measure participation and engagement.
  • Adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary and professional manner.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
