About The Position

The Project Manager III is responsible for leading and delivering medium to large-scale projects with varying levels of complexity across the C&IB Capital Markets organization. This role serves as a key liaison between stakeholders, project teams, and leadership to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager III will manage multiple concurrent projects, drive process improvements, and provide mentorship and guidance to junior project managers. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with varying complexity.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and supporting Agile delivery teams.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Clarizen, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior project managers and project team members.
  • Bachelors degree
  • 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously, typically managing 2-3 projects depending on size, scope, and complexity.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, leadership teams, and cross-functional departments to define project objectives, requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and communication plans.
  • Facilitate project governance activities, including status reporting, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and executive updates.
  • Apply Agile project management principles and methodologies to support successful project execution and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage project resources to ensure alignment with business priorities and project goals.
  • Monitor project performance, identify potential roadblocks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive accountability among project team members and stakeholders to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Support organizational project management best practices, standards, and processes.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Junior Project Managers and less experienced team members, fostering professional growth and project management excellence.
  • Manages the most complex projects from original concept through final implementation and post-project assessment.
  • Accountable for meeting project objectives within established timeframes.
  • May be assigned a single project or a portfolio, requiring extensive planning, oversight, and communication across multiple segments, channels, or lines of business.
  • Develops strategy, processes, resource allocation, budget, guidelines and support of project management team.
  • Partners with internal project liaisons to acquire resources, assigns tasks, directs activities, and controls project execution.
  • Coaches and mentors project team members.
  • Tracks and reports progress, analyzes the results based on facts, defines the products of the project, and forecasts future trends in the project.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, devises contingency plans and recommends improvements based on results.
  • Maintains communications for governing bodies and interested parties.
  • Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
