As a Project Manager III within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. This role will be responsible for leading multiple large-scale, complex initiatives within a highly regulated, enterprise banking environment. This role requires strong Agile project management expertise, excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills, and the ability to navigate regulatory constraints while driving delivery across cross-functional teams. The Project Manager III typically manages 2–5 concurrent projects, depending on size and complexity, with a strong focus on delivery, stakeholder alignment, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Strong Project Management background, managing medium to large-scale initiatives
  • Hands-on Agile project delivery experience (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid Agile models)
  • Proven experience working within a large enterprise environment, preferably in banking or financial services
  • Experience navigating regulatory and compliance hurdles common to financial institutions
  • Experience using Jira for Agile project tracking and reporting
  • Exceptional soft skills, including communication, stakeholder management, and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict across teams and leadership levels
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Bachelors degree
  • 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, adjusting delivery approach based on project size and complexity
  • Apply Agile methodologies to plan, execute, monitor, and deliver projects successfully
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, compliance, and risk partners to ensure alignment and execution
  • Navigate and manage bank regulatory requirements and approval processes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Proactively identify, manage, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Utilize Jira to track work, milestones, dependencies, and reporting
  • Demonstrate strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills to drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Communicate project status, risks, and execution plans clearly to senior leadership
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic objectives
  • Manages the most complex projects from original concept through final implementation and post-project assessment.
  • Accountable for meeting project objectives within established timeframes.
  • May be assigned a single project or a portfolio, requiring extensive planning, oversight, and communication across multiple segments, channels, or lines of business.
  • Develops strategy, processes, resource allocation, budget, guidelines and support of project management team.
  • Partners with internal project liaisons to acquire resources, assigns tasks, directs activities, and controls project execution.
  • Coaches and mentors project team members.
  • Tracks and reports progress, analyzes the results based on facts, defines the products of the project, and forecasts future trends in the project.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, devises contingency plans and recommends improvements based on results.
  • Maintains communications for governing bodies and interested parties.
  • Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
