About The Position

The Project Manager III is responsible for independently leading complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives that support the strategic, operational, financial, and clinical objectives of Tulane University Medical Group (TUMG). The position serves as a project management and analytical resource to the Senior Project Manager and Executive Leadership and is expected to independently drive assigned initiatives from identification through implementation and evaluation. The Project Manager III is responsible for managing multiple concurrent priorities and works works collaboratively with Physicians, TUMG leadership and staff, Department Administrators, Clinic Managers, clinic staff, University departments, external partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. This position is expected to independently gather and validate information from multiple sources, analyze complex data, identify trends and variances, evaluate operational and financial impact, demonstrate ownership of assigned work, proactively identify risks and opportunities and translate findings into clear recommendations for leadership. The Project Manager III is expected to function as an owner of assigned initiatives rather than solely as a task coordinator. When a problem or risk is identified, the Project Manager III is expected to investigate the issue and work toward a solution rather than simply report the problem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of related experience OR High School Diploma/Equivalent with nine (9) years of related experience

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Experience with physician practice operations and/or physician-based revenue cycle management.
  • Experience with healthcare financial analysis, physician compensation, productivity, reimbursement, or practice performance.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and integrating information from multiple systems.
  • Experience with IDX or other physician practice management systems.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, requests, and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction while appropriately communicating progress, risks, decisions, and resource needs to leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills, including the ability to facilitate productive discussions, address competing priorities, obtain stakeholder participation, and navigate complex organizational environments professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive financial, operational, clinical, and patient information.
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including the ability to develop analytical workbooks, presentations, and leadership-ready reporting.
  • Ability to effectively use cloud-based content management, file storage, and collaboration platforms such as Box and OneDrive to securely manage and transfer sensitive information.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training, presentations, and project communications to varied audiences.
  • Ability to travel locally, as needed.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
