About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager III to support work in Niskayuna, NY. This role will provide oversight and direction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager will support a large facilities management team and work alongside owner project delivery team members, coordinating onsite trade labor activities and collaborating with management and trade labor staff to resolve project tasks. Responsibilities include assisting in project sequencing and coordination, utilizing various platforms for efficient City review and approval, reviewing plans and documents, and researching best practices. The role involves contact with consultants, engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and representatives of civic, community, and governmental organizations. The Project Manager will oversee and track project progress, attend design/construction meetings, resolve issues, prepare meeting minutes and reports, and perform administrative tasks. They will also review designs for coordination and constructability, oversee and document construction activities, and assist in reviewing and recommending approval of invoices and change orders. Client support for active and new projects is a key aspect, working with facility team members, internal business clients, external vendors, and contractors. The role includes project, schedule, and cost management services such as technical and administrative project management, budget and schedule control, coordination, change management, quality control, submittal review and approval coordination, construction oversight, and managing project records and close-out documents. Support for overall project management strategy, vendor selection, procurement, contracting, design management, pre-construction services, construction phase services, and project turnover/closeout is also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Project and PDF document management is necessary, with the ability to learn client-specific systems.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 4 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Client Drug Screen and background check is required
  • US Citizenship is required for this role
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Project, PDF document management, and have the ability to learn client dedicated systems

Responsibilities

  • Providing oversight and direction to enable projects to be completed on time and on budget
  • Supporting and working with a large facilities management team alongside owner project delivery team members
  • Coordinating onsite trade labor activities and working alongside management and trade labor staff to solve project tasks
  • Assisting in the sequencing and coordination of projects
  • Utilizing various platforms and software to ensure efficient City review and approval pathways
  • Reviewing plans and documents and providing feedback to various entities
  • Researching best practices to progress project delivery
  • Contact with consultants, engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and representatives of civic, community and governmental organizations
  • Oversee and track project progress
  • Attend regular design/construction project meetings and meet with consultants and staff to resolve design and construction problems
  • Prepare meeting minutes, reports, and perform other ancillary administrative responsibilities related to assigned projects
  • Conduct general administration and oversight of design and construction process
  • Review designs for coordination and constructability
  • Oversee and document construction activities
  • Assist in review and recommendation of approval of invoicing, change orders, etc.
  • Provide client support for active and new projects working alongside other facility team members, internal business clients, external vendors, and contractors driving the execution of projects
