About The Position

The Project Manager II is a project management professional, working within the Digital Transformation-Project Management Office (PMO), responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of small to medium technology and digital transformation initiatives that support Halton Region organizational priorities and strategic objectives. The role manages project scope, schedule, cost, risks, stakeholder engagement, and ensures visibility into project and portfolio performance through effective reporting and communication.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • IAASC Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience in Project Portfolio Management within a PMO
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship management skills
  • Experience with project documentation and project work plan preparation for technology projects
  • Experience with browser-based collaboration and document management platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365), including SharePoint online

  • Agile or Scrum certifications
  • Knowledge of the latest developments and leading practices in the project management industry and profession (e.g. PMBOK®)
  • Working knowledge of ERP and CRM solutions and familiarity with the SDLC process including planning for all phases from define requirements, design, build/develop, test management, Release/Production.

Responsibilities

  • Apply relationship-building capability and project management expertise to support the organization in the achievement and delivery of transformational technology and digital solutions
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships between Digital & Information Services (D&IS) technology department and business stakeholders by providing proactive and consultative project management expertise
  • Support the PMO governance, and the digital delivery lifecycle processes, through stakeholder management and, digital portfolio reporting dashboard
  • Lead projects from initiation to closing phases to deliver the technology solutions aligned with both business, functional and technical requirements
  • Plan, document and execute projects and ensure visibility for key stakeholders by balancing risk and overall performance
  • Prepare, manage and report project cost budgets, timeframe estimates and milestones in conjunction with detailed project plans
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document project needs and project deliverables
  • Identify trends, dependencies and risks within the digital projects portfolio and prepare mitigation strategies
  • Develop and deliver project status update presentations to senior management and steering committees
  • Collaborate with procurement, technical and business partners in the development of Request for Proposals (RFP) and Negotiable Request for Proposals (NRFP) for the purpose of achieving project objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
