About The Position

The Project Manager II oversees one or more projects of a highly complex nature. Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project and meeting deadlines of project. Familiar with the project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. May perform one or more of the following activities: assembling project team; assigning individual responsibilities; identifying appropriate resources needed; developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project; meeting deadlines of project; project scope management; project time management; project cost management; project quality management; project HR management; project communications management; project risk management; and project procurement management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in project management
  • Must be a US Citizen with a DoD Secret, or higher, clearance determination.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees one or more projects of a highly complex nature.
  • Assembles project team, assigns individual responsibilities, and identifies appropriate resources needed.
  • Develops schedule to ensure timely completion of project and meeting deadlines.
  • Coordinates activities of the team, understanding project scope, objectives, and the role of each team member.
  • Manages project scope, time, cost, quality, HR, communications, risk, and procurement.
  • Possesses working knowledge of Acquisition program plans consistent with policies, requirements, and direction.
  • Analyzes interrelated issues and develops recommendations to solve problems.
  • Coordinates activities and schedules with internal and external organizations and customers to guide program accomplishment through phases of the acquisition cycle.
  • Establishes management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, metrics, and management reviews to reflect Acquisition program status and to provide early detection of problems.
  • Recommends tradeoffs to cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Applies industry best practices to program guidance, planning, and solutions.
  • Prepares and tracks status of Acquisition program-related documents submitted for review/approval by Command authority.
  • Accesses and supports program information in the government provided portfolio management tool.
  • Builds an acquisition schedule in Microsoft Project for internal tasks, durations, task flows, interdependencies, etc., major milestones, and key events.
  • Produces and/or reviews all Acquisition program documentation as specified in the Integrated Defense Acquisition, Technology, & Logistics Life Cycle Management Framework including Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Tracks and monitors acquisition documents.
