About The Position

The AES Corporation is seeking a Project Manager II to manage large-scale transmission, distribution, and infrastructure projects. This role is crucial for delivering projects that expand capacity, enhance reliability, and support long-term system needs. The position is based in Dayton, OH, and is primarily in-person, with occasional weekends or irregular hours as needed.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience managing capital construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Utility, infrastructure, or data center experience preferred.
• Master’s preferred.
• PMP preferred.
• Experience with SAP and Oracle P6 strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-million-dollar capital projects ($5M–$50M+) with full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, cash flows, and risk registers.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure construction milestones and outages are executed safely and on time.
• Lead procurement planning, scope development, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
• Track and forecast project costs; provide detailed monthly reporting for PMO and leadership.
• Identify risks early and drive mitigation strategies.
• Support mentoring and development of junior PMs.
• Participate in PMO process improvement and lessons-learned initiatives.
