About The Position

The AES Corporation, a global power company with 8,300 employees across 12 countries, is seeking a Project Manager II to join their Utility & Infrastructure team in Dayton, OH. This role is primarily in-person with occasional weekends/irregular hours as needed. As a Capital Project Manager, you will independently manage large-scale transmission, distribution, and infrastructure projects, owning results from planning through construction. This role sits at the core of our PMO and plays a critical role in delivering projects that expand capacity, enhance reliability, and support long-term system needs. Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience managing capital construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

• Utility, infrastructure, or data center experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Master’s preferred.
• PMP preferred.
• experience with SAP and Oracle P6 strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-million-dollar capital projects ($5M–$50M+) with full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, cash flows, and risk registers.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure construction milestones and outages are executed safely and on time.
• Lead procurement planning, scope development, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
• Track and forecast project costs; provide detailed monthly reporting for PMO and leadership.
• Identify risks early and drive mitigation strategies.
• Support mentoring and development of junior PMs.
• Participate in PMO process improvement and lessons-learned initiatives.
