About The Position

The Independent Living Services (ILS) Project Manager II reports to the ILS Program Director and performs moderately complex (journey-level) project management work in the ILS program. Work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of projects at various levels of completion; monitoring the progress and schedule of projects; and communicating with project staff and stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with focus in the area of social services, counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, public health or related field.
  • Four years of relevant work experience in project management may be substituted for education.
  • At least two years work experience in project management.
  • At least two years work experience leading projects.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years work experience in a social services program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful initiation, daily oversight, and delivery of projects in the Independent Living Services program. Leads the project lifecycle from project initiation through completion.
  • Coordinates, plans, and evaluates projects using accepted project management methodologies.
  • Monitors and manages project quality to ensure that project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the project specifications.
  • Develops, reviews, and recommends proposals for new projects to management.
  • Communicates project methodology and processes to program staff and other partners.
  • Compiles and distributes project information, project status reports, and project budget expenditures.
  • Monitors and manages project quality to ensure that project deliverables are acceptable, within budget, and fulfill the project specifications.
  • Schedules project meetings and ensures the needed staff are included.
  • Provides regular updates to management, project teams, and others of project status and related issues.
  • Interprets policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards and manuals in accordance with legislation, federal regulations, program objectives and goals.
  • Maintains knowledge of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended by the Workforce Innovations and Opportunities Act (WIOA), federal regulations related to Independent Living, state regulations, ILS Standards for Providers, IL Base/Operational Grant Standards for Service Providers, contract requirements and fiscal requirements.
  • Manages the ILS Extranet page, which serves as the repository for exchanging information between the ILS program and Centers for Independent Living.
  • Conducts quality assurance tasks to ensure accuracy of program information in the ILS Extranet.
  • Works with ILS staff to maintain and update information to be added or removed from the Extranet.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations, which may have an alternate shift pattern or location.
