The Project Manager II will be responsible for creating and maintaining project work plans, monitoring milestone accomplishment and budget/resource use, and re-estimating work plans based on various factors. This role involves creating project cost estimates, negotiating resources with functional managers, and ensuring clear understanding of project objectives and timelines. The Project Manager II will work directly with assigned project staff to ensure understanding and progress, and ensure the preparation of all project-related products and tasks. They will serve as the day-to-day liaison to client or funding agency leadership, providing progress and budget reports. The role also involves assisting with contracts, contributing to program area strategic discussions, and supporting the development of project management standards. Additionally, the Project Manager II may serve as proposal Project Manager, mentor Project Coordinators and Project Associates, and manage a variety of projects across different contract types, funding sources, scientific content, and programs.
