About The Position

The Assistant Manager Wastewater oversees the efficient and compliant operation of wastewater treatment and collection systems in the Highland Lakes and Princeton Meadows regions. The role supervises day-to-day facility activities, ensures regulatory compliance, and manages maintenance and operational improvements. It also includes staff leadership and training, coordination on infrastructure improvements, asset and maintenance strategy development, customer response, operational policy development, and participation in emergency response planning and management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a regulated utility.
7–10 years of experience in business management, preferably in water and/or wastewater utility management.
Relevant industry experience in water treatment, hydraulics, or water/wastewater operations.
Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and collection systems.
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in environmental compliance and safety practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Competence in developing and implementing operational strategies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Nice To Haves

Certifications in wastewater treatment operations are preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
Lead and mentor staff, with a focus on continuous training and knowledge transfer.
Coordinate with various departments on infrastructure improvements and operational enhancements.
Manage assets and develop maintenance strategies for system care and improvements.
Respond to customer complaints and inquiries related to wastewater services.
Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures to optimize efficiency.
Participate in emergency response planning and management.
