About The Position

The Project Manager I is responsible for managing internal and client-sponsored cell and gene therapy projects across process development, analytical development, technology transfer, GMP manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives. This role leads projects through the full project lifecycle, from contract execution through project closure, ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. Partnering with cross-functional teams and external clients, the Project Manager I develops and executes project plans, manages project scope, contracts, and change orders, oversees project financials, mitigates risks, and maintains effective stakeholder communication. The role drives compliant, high-quality project execution while meeting customer expectations and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline, e.g. biology, chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, pharmaceuticals, engineering, etc.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a wide range of project management skills, including complex scheduling, project budgeting, contract management, cross-team leadership, risk mitigation, gap analysis, internal/external communications and GMP requirements is required.
  • Previous experience in biotechnology, research and development, and/or technology transfer experience.

  • PMP Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned client and internal projects through the full lifecycle, from project initiation through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate activities across development, tech transfer, and manufacturing to ensure alignment across all functional groups and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance and manage risks, issues, changes, and dependencies to ensure achievement of project objectives.
  • Lead project meetings through clear agendas and document key updates, risks, decisions, and actions with accurate meeting minutes.
  • Manage project financials, including forecasting, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
  • Support contract administration and ensure project execution remains aligned with approved contractual scope and obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable GMP, regulatory, quality, and company requirements while maintaining complete and accurate project documentation.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to support successful project and business outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
