About The Position

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is seeking qualified candidates to fill an open Project Manager I - Public Improvement South position within its Customer & System Projects team. This role is part of a linked job posting series for Project Manager I, II, and III, and candidates should apply to the position that best matches their qualifications. The South Regional Public Improvement Team at PSE collaborates with local jurisdictions to support project development, manage impacts to PSE facilities, and coordinate the relocation of PSE facilities when necessary. The team comprises project managers, engineers, and engineering specialists who work together to support jurisdictions and achieve successful project outcomes. The Project Manager I position is responsible for directing and managing projects of limited scope, potentially with guidance from senior staff. This role involves managing projects with clearly defined scopes, which may include multiple internal and external customers. The Project Manager I will also assist in coordinating and communicating with departments such as Engineering, Real Estate, Environmental, Permitting, System Planning, and Energy Resources, and may be involved in drafting and monitoring simple contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • At least two years relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in scheduling, estimating, accounting and finance principles.
  • Customer-oriented, a positive, team-oriented and collaborative attitude, flexibility, an understanding of the business issues driving the need for the project, and solid work ethic are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates resources, provides oversight and direction to team members.
  • Assembles and leads multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Identifies the scope of an assigned project and decides logical action to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Facilitates communication between service providers and internal customers, which may include technical support at the direction of a project manager.
  • Responds to customer concerns and works with appropriate parties for resolution.
  • In support of PMs or Senior PMs, facilitates technical assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Applies general rules, standards and guidelines to specific technical problems.
  • Reports on project and program progress as directed.
  • Gathers, consolidates and analyzes facts in relation to project requirements.
  • Responsible for schedule and budget development, management and forecasting.
  • Supports emergency response work as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
