About The Position

This role involves managing construction projects, with distinct responsibilities and qualifications for Project Manager I (small to mid-sized projects) and Project Manager II (larger, more complex projects, potentially mentoring junior staff). The position requires overseeing all phases of project management from planning and estimating to completion, including managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The company utilizes AI tools to assist in the hiring process, but final decisions are made by humans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices
  • Experience with scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and subcontract management
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work on active job sites, including climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating subcontracted and/or self-performed work
  • Exposure to government projects is a plus
  • Experience with design/build delivery, value engineering, and project controls
  • Strong background in government or negotiated contracts preferred
  • Familiarity with IDIQ, JOC, design/build, and fast-track delivery methods
  • Line-item estimating experience
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • USACE/NAVFAC CQC certification (a plus)
  • Professional certifications such as AC, CPC, or PE

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from planning and estimating through completion
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, contracts, and project budgets
  • Prepare estimates, pricing updates, and change orders
  • Develop and maintain schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Monitor progress and address schedule or cost impacts
  • Conduct site visits to ensure safety, quality, and performance
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Manage permitting, inspections, and compliance requirements
  • Lead meetings and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Track financials, including billing and cost control
  • Identify risks and implement practical solutions
  • Support safety, quality, and environmental initiatives
  • Mentor junior team members (PM II level)
