The Project Manager I provides support for project plan development and monitors budgets and scope. They manage the Project Management Life Cycle from beginning to end and communicate frequently with stakeholders and project teams to ensure buy-in. The position applies industry-accepted methodologies (i.e., Project Management Institute [PMI]) to ensure adherence to project management standards and requirements and to provide stakeholders with continual reports on project progress and performance. They support project management subject matter experts in the Project Management Office (PMO) with developing solutions to issues and creating efficiencies. The role involves meeting with stakeholders to validate business cases and gather facts for establishing and gaining agreement on project charters. They create project charters and analyze business cases to validate and clarify issues, justify the use of project resources, and anticipate risks. The Project Manager I consults with project sponsors to clarify project directives, scopes, deliverables, and timelines and to analyze risk. They conduct bid sessions and/or vendor RFP efforts to select and manage suppliers and supplier payments. The role interacts with Enterprise-wide senior management to represent UTS's interests, understand customer requirements, validate assumptions, and ensure adherence to UTS project methodology. They apply PM tools and methodologies to ensure project milestones are achieved and scope is maintained. The position observes project team dynamics to ensure effective team member synergies and to resolve issues. They create progressive project milestones for facilitating smaller-scale achievements and to motivate the project team. The role utilizes PM tools to manage project timelines and accuracy, ensure project resource commitments are met, and to track activities and variances. They perform assessments throughout projects to identify risks and potential impact and to develop response strategies for managing and mitigating risk factors. The Project Manager I interacts with project customers to verify completion dates, review milestone expectations, and manage UTS resource schedules. They close project contracts to validate supplier statements of work (SOWs) and verify deliverables. The role conducts project management research and studies trends and developments under the direction of the PMO Director to support PMO team members and industry colleagues. Performs related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of Project Management experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Obtain Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification within one year.
