About The Position

KCI Construction is looking for a Project Manager to join our Transportation group to lead heavy civil projects including highway, roadway, bridge, and related infrastructure work. This role is responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through closeout, with accountability for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and overall project performance. The ideal candidate understands heavy civil construction, works well alongside field leadership, and can effectively manage the people, resources, and details required to successfully deliver transportation and infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience managing civil construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, cost management, and engineering principles.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Self-starter who works well collaboratively with both field and office teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Heavy civil, roadway, bridge, or infrastructure construction experience preferred.
  • experience with HCSS, scheduling software, and Vista is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop and manage project schedules in partnership with the Superintendent.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, budgets, and overall financial performance.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project resources.
  • Partner closely with field leadership to keep projects progressing safely and efficiently.
  • Manage subcontractor scopes, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Prepare and track owner billings and maintain accurate project cost information.
  • Manage RFIs, submittments, change proposals, as-builts, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractor activities with the project schedule.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve project issues that could impact cost, schedule, quality, or performance.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to Project Engineers and other project team members.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction activities as needed.
