About The Position

The Project Manager, Facilities and Capital Projects manages renovation, restoration, and capital improvement projects at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Washington, D.C. Working closely with the Vice President of Operations and the Building Operations team, this role oversees projects in the Chamber's historic headquarters. Experience with historic buildings and commercial real estate is strongly preferred. This is primarily an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years managing commercial facilities or capital projects.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work primarily on-site in Washington, D.C.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with historic buildings strongly preferred.
  • Commercial real estate experience preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facilities and capital projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop budgets, schedules, scopes, and executive status reports.
  • Manage work in an occupied historic building while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and historic preservation requirements.
  • Manage procurement, contracts, change orders, and invoices.
  • Support long-term capital planning and facilities strategy.
  • Maintain project documentation and closeout records.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Provide occasional after-hours project oversight.
