About The Position

Excavation Project Manager Delaware Valley Paving | Audubon, PA Build Projects. Lead Teams. Drive Results. Delaware Valley Paving is seeking an experienced and driven Excavation Project Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing excavation, site development, utility, grading, and earthwork projects from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining strong relationships with customers, field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in excavation, sitework, underground utilities, grading, or heavy civil construction.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of: Site development, Earthwork and grading, Stormwater systems, Underground utilities, Construction scheduling, Project budgeting
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with public works and prevailing wage projects.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, HCSS, Agtek, Tenna, NetSuite, or similar construction software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple excavation and site development projects simultaneously.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project scopes.
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address challenges to keep projects on schedule.
  • Conduct site visits and project meetings to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Manage project budgets, costs, and profitability.
  • Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders.
  • Track labor productivity and equipment utilization.
  • Forecast project costs and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, contractors, engineers, and municipalities.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular updates.
  • Build long-term customer relationships through exceptional service and communication.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and Foremen to coordinate daily operations.
  • Support crews with project planning, logistics, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure crews have the equipment, materials, permits, and resources needed for success.
  • Promote and enforce company safety standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all project specifications, permits, and regulations.
  • Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations when necessary.
