About The Position

Haley & Aldrich is seeking a Project Manager, Environmental Engineer or Geologist with experience managing and executing complex tasks on large environmental projects, preferably involving remedial investigation and remediation work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in large complex projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time, hybrid position located in our Portland, OR office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Geology.
  • 8 or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage project performance (schedule and budget).
  • Strong technical writing, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and ability to learn project financial systems and technical tools.
  • Ability to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Geology.
  • Experience with project/task management and project financial management.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (current)
  • Registration as a geologist or engineer, or ability to obtain Oregon registration.
  • Expertise with federal programs including RCRA, CERCLA, and TSCA, and state programs in Oregon.
  • Experience supporting complex environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Exposure to large project teams and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Experience preparing major regulatory or technical reports.
  • Demonstrated capability to grow into larger project leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day project execution with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and health and safety.
  • Manage the full project life cycle, including scoping, cost estimating, proposal support, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, resource planning, and financial management.
  • Plan and manage site characterization programs, including coordination of field investigations and oversight of field teams.
  • Evaluate and interpret geologic and site characterization data, develop conceptual site models, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives.
  • Prepare and/or review work plans, technical reports, and regulatory submittments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor staff; review work products to support consistent quality and knowledge transfer.
  • Plan and execute work in accordance with company and client health and safety requirements; demonstrate foundational safety behaviors.
