About The Position

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join their team. The Project Manager will lead project teams to effectively deliver projects within the defined scope, schedule, budget, and with the appropriate quality in order to meet the business needs and strategic objectives of the Corporation. The Project Manager has primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing assigned projects. SaskEnergy is Saskatchewan's natural gas distribution company, and together with TransGas, their natural gas transmission and storage subsidiary, they provide convenience, comfort and reliable natural gas service for their customers. Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of work experience relevant to project management in construction or the natural gas/oil industry, with 3 – 5 years of direct project management experience.
  • Project Management Certificate(s) (PMI-PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and presenting ideas to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering or Science (any discipline) is preferred
  • Professional Engineer, Engineering Licensee or eligibility for registration with APEGS will be strongly considered.
  • Prosci certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall project plan, including creating, executing, and monitoring progress of, the detailed plans within the project.
  • Plan, develop and execute project communications and status reporting, including, organizing, scheduling and facilitating regular project team meetings, stakeholder updates and creating project reports.
  • Establish team collaboration by coordinating cross discipline communication and collaboration, while fostering a positive team environment to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, including the creation of a work breakdown structure and task list, identification of task dependencies and resource assignments.
  • Coordinate and supervise the timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Motivate project teams and utilize resources to ensure work is performed on time and with the appropriate quality.
  • Using SaskEnergy established processes, initiate RFPs, plan and manage vendor selection, contract negotiation, and contract creation, perform contract administration and perform contract close out.
  • Identify, mitigate and manage project risks and issues, including escalation to ensure timely resolution.
  • Gather cost estimates, create project budgets, forecast, track, and control costs to ensure projects finish within budget.
  • Identify stakeholders and manage their expectations ensuring the stakeholders are informed and in agreement with the project progress and anticipated project results.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
