About The Position

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is seeking a Project Manager, Digital & Operations to join its Global Operations & Digital Strategy team. This role will report to the Lead Project Manager and will be instrumental in executing ULI's strategic plan, particularly as its digital roadmap expands. The position is designed to manage a portfolio of projects, starting with smaller implementation projects and progressing to larger, end-to-end initiatives central to the organization's strategic goals. This is not a technical role; the focus is on coordinating vendors, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring project success through effective communication and management. The role operates within a close-knit, two-person project management team that supports various departments across ULI.

Requirements

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects with multiple internal stakeholders and external vendors, from kickoff through delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Genuine flexibility and adaptability to move between methodologies and tools.
  • Comfort operating with some ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving, resource-conscious nonprofit environment.
  • Familiarity with at least one project management or task-tracking platform (Monday.com, Jira, Asana, or similar).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing vendors or external implementation partners specifically.
  • Background working agency-side or in a client-services model.
  • Experience working with global or international stakeholder groups.
  • Exposure to using AI tools in project workflows (status reporting, plan-building, and similar).

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical implementation projects end to end, from helping coordinate the RFP process and vendor selection through execution and delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for implementation vendors, keeping delivery on scope, on schedule, and mapped to what ULI needs to hand over on its end.
  • Support larger, organization-wide initiatives in a coverage and support capacity alongside the Lead Project Manager.
  • Act as the liaison between vendors, technical leads, and business stakeholders, making sure the right internal decision-makers are engaged at the right moments.
  • Run change management processes when scope, requirements, or priorities shift mid-project.
  • Adapt project approach to different methodologies (agile, waterfall) and vendor tooling.
  • Track external project budgets against the agreed scope of work and flag variances or the need for a change order early.
  • Own project plans and status reporting using various project management tools.
  • Utilize AI tools to support routine documentation tasks like status updates and project plans.

Benefits

  • health insurance
  • dental insurance
  • life insurance
  • generous vacation leave
  • retirement plan with employer match
