About The Position

Aforma Design Studio is seeking a Project Manager/Designer (BIM/Revit Specialist) for a full-time, 40-hour per week remote role, open to candidates in Latin America only. This position is for a highly technical Revit power user who can think like a designer, coordinate like a project architect, and document like a construction professional. The role involves building, auditing, coordinating, and documenting complex BIM models from point cloud to permit set to construction coordination within a design-driven architecture studio. Requirements

  • Previous experience working in an architectural office
  • 6 years or more of experience with Revit
  • At least 1 year of experience with Lumion
  • Strong multi-disciplinary coordination knowledge
  • Exceptional documentation standards
  • Ability to work independently and asynchronously
  • Portfolio required
  • Revit exam (Revit 2022 or newer): 2 hours
  • Rendering exam (any software): due within 1 day

Nice To Haves

  • Point Cloud modeling experience (At least 1 year is preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop initial sketches, layouts, and detailed Revit models
  • Draft and model architectural, structural, and MEP components (as needed)
  • Create accurate as-built models from extracted Point Cloud data
  • Produce renderings in Lumion (or equivalent rendering software) and support rendering submittal presentations
  • Prepare detailed drawings and specifications
  • Audit and review Revit models, plans, and shop drawings across disciplines for completeness and adherence to standards, ensuring they are properly checked
  • Track design deliverables to ensure quality and on-time completion
  • Develop company and project-specific templates and BIM content libraries
  • Help determine project requirements, develop design concepts, and consult with clients throughout the process
  • Assist with preparing cost estimates and sourcing materials
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and trade partners regarding project activities, resources, and required information
  • Create RFIs for vendors and trade partners
  • Prepare, compile, and submit complete permit application packages (drawings, reports, calculations, and other required documents)
  • Support the permitting process, finishes/selections schedules, and project closeout
  • Ensure completion of design plans before construction starts
  • Maintain, track, distribute, and organize project plans, RFIs, and other project documentation/records
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional construction documentation
  • Perform takeoffs and cost estimates using Procore Estimating/Esticom
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Review vendor and trade partner proposals/quotations for completeness and accuracy
  • Help manage vendor and trade partner submittals to the architect/engineer for approval across all scopes of work based on plans/specifications
  • Create submittals in Procore for materials and client approvals
  • Coordinate and monitor RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings to support the construction schedule and ensure conformance with contract requirements
  • Support weekly OAC agendas and meeting minutes, and send them to clients
