About The Position

Manage the design, engineering and construction process of new buildings or alteration of existing structures for Opry Entertainment Group (OEG). Organize and process correspondence with third-party consultants and sub or prime contracting parties. Support the Design & Construction leadership in managing schedules, consultants and work quality, including assuring compliance with specifications and company standards. As corporate liaison, support and guide venue maintenance leaders and operators on maintenance, repair, and capital improvement project needs in existing venues. Reports to VP of Design & Construction.

Requirements

Degree in Construction Management preferred; degree in Engineering or Architecture acceptable based on experience; or equivalent work and field experience
6+ years' experience in the construction field, including supervision of design and construction and budget management responsibility
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions at the executive level
Strong Microsoft Office skills necessary (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Nashville Specific: Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge, including successful completion of a background check
OSHA Training required within 90 days of hire
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required
Ability to speak and hear.
Close and distance vision.
Frequent walking and standing along with sitting.
Will occasionally be required to lift 50 lbs or less.

May be required to walk the construction site multiple times per day and have to have the ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain good working relationships with all consultants, vendors, and onsite operations team members. Interface with interdepartmental leadership and internal operational departments to properly coordinate each project's design and construction process. Lead and document project meetings between participating departments.
Lead or participate in design and construction coordination meetings, construction meetings, onsite field coordination, or OACs. Support and manage the project design to ensure company standards are incorporated into the documents.
Establish and maintain design and construction schedules for internal departmental coordination, and external project control measures. Assist with RFPs, interviews, bid tabs and proposal analysis, team assembly, and award recommendations.
Responsible for project inspection, non-conforming reports, and quality control.
Assist and work with procurement to establish FF&E/OS&E/OFCI delivery and installation schedule to ensure on-time delivery for project opening.
Maintain progress reports, budgets and files for references and coordination to meet internal audit and record retention procedures.
Create or support the creation of budgets for all future or active projects assigned. Continuously maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.
Review and approve all vendor/contractor invoices for contract amount, invoice amount, percent complete, schedule of values, and any changes.
Review and comment on the approval of all changes, outside the established signing authority, to the design and construction documents with a cost or schedule impact.
Review, monitor and process all correspondence to and from contractors/vendors and coordinate the submission of periodic reports as required by their contracts.
Produce final punch lists and work with necessary departments to close out the project.
Lead the job closeout process to turn over as-built drawings, warranties, owner's maintenance, operations manuals, and vendor/contractor lists to operations. Ensure closeout of all contractor and vendor contracts. Turn over utilities to operations departments. Responsible for the preparation of final billings and filing with jurisdictional agencies. Work with Accounting to ensure all contractor lien releases are obtained before final payment and that "Notices to Owner" are finalized.
Support and guide venue maintenance leaders on the scheduled maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, or associated systems and equipment. Conduct site visits and oversee compliance with established policies.
Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and development of venue maintenance leadership to build and maintain a strong bench to meet market needs and future growth.
Contribute to the overall short- and long-range planning process and in establishing and assessing the venue's capital improvement and maintenance budgets.
Work closely with corporate leadership teams to recommend and implement policies and practices to effectively address environmental sustainability in alignment with company ESG goals.
