About The Position

As a member of the Capital Development Department, the Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Construction. They will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, management and oversight of the implementation of both minor and major Osler Capital Projects. The Project Manager will be required and/or responsible for leading a team or independently managing the day-to-day activities associated with the planning and implementation of a project, including liaising with Hospital User Groups, Hospital Leadership, Consultants, Contractors, Municipality, Osler Foundation, Ministry of Health Capital Team, and other partner groups to ensure the project remains within the developed project parameters. They will also lead a team or independently implement Capital/redevelopment project management processes and best practices including planning, design development, working drawing preparation, budget, risk management and schedule control, occupancy planning and post occupancy evaluation. The role involves participating in the development of requests for qualifications/proposal, business cases and contracts in the selection of consultants, vendors and product standardization, and participating/facilitating all project related meetings. The Project Manager must work in compliance with Infection Control standards and the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, and work under their own initiative to drive project processes while displaying energy and enthusiasm within the role and deliver projects on time and on budget. They will also provide direct Sr. PM support for other concurrent projects, as required, and perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • University/college education, preferably in architecture and design
  • Minimum of ten years of project management relevant experience; work within healthcare facilities an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with the Ministry of Health Capital Planning process
  • Experience in P3 Infrastructure Ontario contracts; Progressive or Alliance contracts preferred
  • Demonstrated project control skills, including development and monitoring of budgets and schedules
  • Effective leader in a team environment
  • Outstanding organization, priority setting and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Auto-Cad is an asset.
  • Ability to travel between all hospital campuses

  • Work collaboratively with a wide variety of project partners to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met and are in alignment with the Hospital’s mission, vision and values and strategic directions
