Requirements

  • Community project experience with an emphasis on K-12 and/or Higher Education projects.
  • Resourceful and creative problem solver.
  • Good teammate – wants those around them to succeed and capable of taking direction or leading a project.
  • Good with people – strong listener, respectful in interactions, positive outlook.
  • Good communicator – verbally, graphically and in written form.
  • Organized and thorough – understands how to work with and coordinate consulting partners and many moving parts.
  • Strong understanding of design, space planning, spatial relationships and materials.
  • Passion for sustainability.
  • Professional drive and still have fun while you work.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years of professional design experience.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies with understanding of multiple project typologies.
  • Emphasis on California schools and higher education projects involving DSA required.
  • Strong organization, communication and presentation skills are a must.

Nice To Haves

  • CA Architectural license preferred or on registration track.
  • Proficiency in Revit; SketchUp, and programs used to prepare presentation documents such as PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing education projects from beginning to end.
  • Primary client relationship duties.
  • Work with Principal and Sr. Designers to achieve client goals.
  • Focus on Project Management for an ongoing body of work.
  • Manage support staff and consultants to produce and execute extraordinary work.
  • Client interaction, proposal writing, budget and schedule management, team coordination, consultant coordination and quality control.
  • Design, production and construction administration responsibilities.
  • Some travel will be required.
