About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment focused on healthcare, hospital, university, and institutional work. This is a hands-on leadership role with full ownership of project execution from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical contractor background, understands the complexities of large commercial projects, and can independently manage field operations, schedules, project financials, and client relationships. You will work closely with estimating, BIM/VDC, field leadership, and executive teams while maintaining direct accountability for project execution, coordination, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial electrical project management experience required
  • Experience working for an electrical contractor is required
  • GC-only or residential-only backgrounds will not be considered
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, cost control, field coordination, and change order management
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects end-to-end with minimal oversight
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing projects in the $3M–$15M+ range preferred
  • Healthcare, hospital, university, or institutional project experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Accubid, Procore, or similar construction management software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction planning through final completion
  • Manage field execution by coordinating electricians, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, clients, inspectors, and project stakeholders
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and construction contract documents
  • Oversee RFIs, submittments, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure smooth project turnover and scope alignment
  • Partner with BIM/VDC teams to support accurate coordination and field execution
  • Monitor project profitability, identify risks early, and implement proactive solutions
  • Maintain organized project documentation and provide reporting updates to senior leadership
  • Drive successful project delivery while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and client satisfaction standards
