About The Position

Psomas is a 100% employee-owned firm seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead Site Development and Public Works projects throughout Southern California. Based in their Downtown Los Angeles office, the role involves partnering with municipalities, school districts, higher education institutions, and civic agencies to deliver infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex projects, build client relationships, develop staff, and grow the practice within multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
  • 1+ years of project management experience leading Site Development, Public Works, facilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience delivering projects for Southern California public agencies, municipalities, or educational institutions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering, design principles, practices, and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.

Nice To Haves

  • DBIA certification or ability to obtain within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from concept through completion, balancing technical excellence, client expectations, team development, and business objectives.
  • Manage multiple Site Development and Public Works projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and delivery.
  • Guide grading, drainage, utilities, LID, hydrologic/hydraulic design, and public improvement projects.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff, providing direction and technical guidance.
  • Build trusted relationships with public agencies, municipalities, educational institutions, and other key clients.
  • Navigate regulatory requirements, permitting, and coordination with local and state agencies.
  • Lead and support proposals, RFQs/RFPs, presentations, interviews, and contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate subconsultants and support contract administration throughout project delivery.
