About The Position

Working closely with the Operations Manager, the Project Manager leads the successful execution of rail technology projects for Class I freight railroads, passenger rail operators, and transit agencies across North America. This role serves as the primary customer-facing point of contact and is accountable for scope, schedule, budget, risk, communications, and customer satisfaction from contract award through commissioning and operational support. This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will actively participate in project execution, field coordination, customer engagement, deployment support, and issue resolution while maintaining overall responsibility for delivery, quality, and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Operations, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2 years of project management experience delivering complex technical, transportation, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, risks, deliverables, stakeholders, and customer communications.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Class I railroads, passenger rail agencies, transit operators, or rail industry suppliers.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with railroad operations, safety programs, field deployment environments, or industrial technology systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Teams, Excel, Project, Planner, and project reporting tools; valid passport preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project lead and customer liaison for assigned rail customer accounts and projects.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, action items, and status reports.
  • Coordinate engineering, software, AI, IT, manufacturing, field services, operations, quality, and subcontractor resources.
  • Lead kickoff meetings, project reviews, customer updates, change request discussions, and closeout activities.
  • Actively support site surveys, installations, testing, commissioning, acceptance, and operational readiness activities.
  • Drive resolution of technical, operational, and customer issues through direct engagement with stakeholders.
  • Track project performance against scope, schedule, budget, contractual deliverables, and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate site access, safety requirements, railroad training, and customer compliance obligations.
  • Partner with sales and business development teams to support customer growth and future project initiatives.
