About The Position

Join us and work with a Navy client to create, edit, publish, and maintain documentation outlining organizational processes and integration between cutting-edge systems both internally to the Navy as well as externally with other Joint Service partners. You will develop, write, and edit a variety of technical documents, including reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, and instruction books that are crucial for the Navy. You will also observe and analyze developmental and experimental activities to understand and document operating procedures. You’ll conduct interviews with production and engineering personnel and review existing reports to become familiar with technologies and production methods while also organizing and structuring technical information. You will review and edit materials created by other writers, providing feedback and recommendations for revisions to scope, format, and content. You will also get to work in close collaboration with stakeholders, engineers, program managers, and other subject matter experts to gather requirements, understand system interactions, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all documentation. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing or editing
  • Experience in writing, editing, or publishing, including within a technical or military environment
  • Experience with engineering development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Gitlab
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition documentation and joint service requirements is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of military and Naval intelligence programs, Electronic Warfare, information warfare, and signals intelligence
