About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Project Manager/Principal Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel Program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Project Managers serve as the primary liaison between projects and stakeholders, regularly reviewing status, managing schedules, and preparing reports. They apply their knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques across all project phases—Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing—to deliver projects on time, within scope, on budget, and with high quality. Their core duties include developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans that encompass such items as work breakdown structures, detailed schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocations, while continuously monitoring progress, tracking performance, and reporting status. They also identify, assess, and mitigate risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with standards such as Earned Value Management and aligning deliverables with Northrop Grumman requirements. In addition to technical competencies, Project Managers must demonstrate strong soft skill capabilities. Effective communication, leadership, problem solving, and negotiation are essential for managing stakeholder expectations and supporting team members. They are expected to uphold company values, make business savvy decisions, and foster collaboration, all of which keep projects aligned with organizational goals and ensure successful outcomes.

Requirements

Project Manager: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; master's degree and 0 years’ experience; or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Principal Project Manager: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; master's degree and 3 years’ experience; 1 yr with PhD or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Must be a U.S citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
Demonstrated track record/ experience in project management/ execution and closeout.
Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management principles.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
Experience planning, scheduling, and managing projects with many different stakeholders.
Experience developing content, packaging, and briefing communication.

Nice To Haves

PMP Certification.
Current/Active Special Program Access (SAP).
Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations.
At least 2 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
