Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets. (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • The ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Write routine reports, correspondence, and speak effectively before both internal and external groups.
  • Establish, organize and maintain files, document management and database searches.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously with Internal and external group.

  • Experience or interest in areas related to political science, public administration, economics, urban studies, journalism, public relations, project management, research, and/or communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support initiatives and projects including conducting research for Milwaukee County programs and services.
  • Perform data entry and analysis, as well as tracking project timelines and deliverables using project management tools.
  • Coordinate meetings including preparing agendas, presentations, and materials, note-taking, and following-up on action items.
  • Assist with managing databases and tracking systems that support performance measurement.
  • Assist with program management.
  • Support the Strategy & Budget Performance (SBP) priorities and initiatives.
  • Support communication efforts including drafting materials such as proposals, promotional materials, reports, presentations, social media content, newsletters, and stakeholder communications.
  • Assist with internal and external engagement and event coordination including planning, logistics, and stakeholder outreach.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Organize and maintain files and systems, document initiatives, as well as assist with other administrative tasks as assigned based on SBP priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
