About The Position

The Project Management Director provides expertise in sustained customer success and growth throughout the post-sales lifecycle, including training, professional services, technical support, renewals, outcome attainment, retention, expansion, and customer advocacy with a digital focus. The successful candidate will impact the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness objectives. Operating with moderate autonomy, this role requires high levels of operational judgment to achieve critical business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in the relevant project, program or portfolio management.
  • 10+ years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management.
  • 5+ years of people-leading experience.
  • Portfolio management experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems and lead programs/projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs; established project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and implementation of projects at various customer work sites in the US and abroad, including managing the activities of staff and subcontractors.
  • Act as the primary stakeholder and customer escalation point for active projects. Manage commissioning activities, resolve specification issues, handle correspondence, provide periodic updates, ensure customer satisfaction, and negotiate/coordinate with staff as appropriate.
  • Manage a small-to-medium team of senior professionals and other staff. Leverage specialized functional knowledge to influence the development of strategy, control resources, and inform policy formulation.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stay informed of industry trends to inform departmental work.
  • Exercise a high level of judgment to manage complex tasks in operations, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Assess the quality of information provided, ask pertinent questions, and construct well-reasoned recommendations. Offer solutions to problems that fall outside of set parameters, utilizing both internal and external sources to reach decisions.
  • Lead a functional team and a portfolio of projects characterized by significant resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicate difficult concepts, influence stakeholders, and guide others to consider alternative points of view.
  • Lead post-sales initiatives including training, professional services, and technical support. Focus on driving outcome attainment, retention, and expansion through a digital-first lens.
