About The Position

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects is seeking a Project Management Assistant to support Project Managers in developing and delivering critical infrastructure like factories, grids, transit systems, and public infrastructure. This role involves working with a team of project managers, engineers, technologists, and strategists to transform how capital projects are planned, managed, and executed using digital innovation and AI. The goal is to build the future of infrastructure, moving beyond 'good enough' to create smarter, safer, and more sustainable solutions. The work is primarily onsite with clients and partners to foster strong client relationships and enable effective project delivery. While the role is primarily onsite, Accenture aims to be flexible in supporting specific work/life needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business with 2-4 years of experience in the electric utilities or a related field, OR an associate's degree in engineering or business with 5-8 years of experience in the electric or gas utility field or a related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with proven analytical experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and are highly detailed.
  • Self-directed and motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Maximo
  • Familiarity with electric utilities infrastructure project concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Organize team meetings, walkdowns, track action items, and maintain agendas and minutes.
  • Assist with RFP creation for engineering and construction bidding.
  • Maintain project Phase Checklists.
  • Help build project schedules and follow up on permit status.
  • Request the opening of Project IDs and Workorders.
  • Obtain financial updates from vendors.
  • Update financial forecasts in client systems.
  • Prepare various project status reports and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Perform vendor invoice reviews, generate invoice checklists, and submit them for review, approval, and submission to the client.
  • Facilitate client project closeout at the project conclusion.
  • Review material requests, contracts, and QA/QC reports from Project Controls, consulting the PM for corrections.
  • Work directly with contractors and client personnel to resolve issues.
  • Manage smaller project issues directly under the purview of the Project Manager.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed.
