About The Position

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. This position will manage subcontracts for the Future Submarine Propulsion Plant Design projects. Background in supply chain and supplier management is preferred. Position serves as the primary interface between the Techincal Program Office (TPO), Supply Chain Management and Engineering for Submaring Propulsion Plant Design efforts. Oversee the timely placement and execution of subcontracts in support of all program efforts. Support the program, technical teams and SCM with all activities related to supplier subcontracts including project management and invoicing. Plan, report, and present in various formats on subcontract performance for the assigned program areas, including regular interaction with internal NNS groups and external stakeholders such as NNL and EB. Develop and maintain program processes and guidelines related to subcontracts and provide familiarization training to employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
