About The Position

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. In addition to traditional project operations responsibilities, this position plays an integral role within the Technology Integration group supporting the evaluation, integration, and deployment of digital, automated, and advanced technology solutions that enable shipyard productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

  • Skill in synthesizing input from multiple stakeholders, technical disciplines, and data sources to clearly define objectives, constraints, challenges, and dependencies.
  • General understanding of engineering, design, or automation workflows related to submarines or carriers.
  • Broad understanding of the shipbuilding value stream and where digital or automated solutions can enhance effectiveness.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and work autonomously when needed.
