About The Position

The Project Management Analyst 2 provides analytical, scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination support for complex shipbuilding and engineering programs. This position supports project managers and cross-functional teams by tracking program performance, monitoring schedules and budgets, identifying risks, and assisting with execution of project deliverables. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, analytical abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or defense environment. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing, shipbuilding, aerospace, defense, or industrial programs
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling/reporting tools
  • Experience with cost tracking, forecasting, or program controls
  • Ability to interpret technical data and project performance metrics

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers with planning, execution, and monitoring of assigned programs and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, reports, metrics, and status updates
  • Analyze project cost, labor, material, and schedule performance data
  • Assist with forecasting manpower, resource allocation, and budget tracking
  • Coordinate meetings, action items, deliverables, and project documentation
  • Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies impacting program execution
  • Prepare presentations and reports for leadership reviews and customer meetings
  • Track milestones and ensure compliance with program deadlines
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, production, and finance teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization efforts
  • Utilize project management systems and reporting tools to maintain accurate program data
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, quality standards, and contractual requirements
