About The Position

Set up and operate machines and tools to perform operations within machine capacity, using special fixtures or holding devices when required. This supplemental position is located at Caterpillar’s Solar manufacturing facility in Channelview, Texas. The role is intended for a fully competent and qualified Machine Operator who can work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a machine operator, with the ability to perform the job with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of setting up and operating production machining equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Skill using precision measuring equipment and gauges to inspect machined parts.
• Knowledge and skills in operating manual and CNC machining equipment.
• Able to work the assigned first shift.
• Willingness and ability to perform assigned tasks competently.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Pass the required background screening, physical screening, and drug/alcohol screening.
• Applicants must not require employer-specific visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 or more years of experience as a machine operator.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to write, change, and update programs.
• Experience operating Horizontal Boring Machines and Kuraki CNC Machines.
• Ability to read and write G code and use FeatureCAM.

• Ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Maintain required records and documents.
• Train less experienced machinists as required.
