About The Position

At Pratt & Whitney, the Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineering Professional. The IPT has responsibility for the entire life cycle of the part. The Project Lead will be responsible for part-level ownership, task planning, and execution to ensure the IPT achieves goals for the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). Qualified candidates need to demonstrate leadership, excellent communication skills, be technically proficient, and be customer-focused.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience includes project management and technical engineering
  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Demonstrated successful experience using Agile
  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-functional teams and effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and levels of management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and schedules.
  • Experience executing Engineering Changes through the Product Change and Incorporation Review process (PCIR).
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, Smartsheets/Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure technical requirements are met, perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
  • Ensure performance, quality, cost, industrial and schedule commitments are achieved
  • Prepare/present status and technical content to IPT Lead, CIPT & upper Pratt & Whitney management.
  • Work closely with the Integrated Product Team and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements.
  • Evaluate product improvement opportunities and initiate process changes or support ESTO for Class II Engineering Changes.
  • Mentor and help develop other Project Engineers on the team
  • Travel up to 10%
