About The Position

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a Project Intern for its 2027 Part-Time Spring Heavy Civil Engineering Internship Program. The paid, part-time internship runs from January 4, 2027, through May 14, 2027. The intern will report onsite to an assigned project in Phoenix, Arizona, gaining hands-on experience supporting active heavy civil construction projects and field operations under the guidance of experienced construction professionals. The internship offers opportunities to learn how engineering principles are applied to project planning, execution, quality, and safety; develop skills in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation; collaborate with project engineers, superintendents, project managers, and field teams; and receive mentorship while exploring careers in project engineering, construction management, and operations leadership. Interns are assigned a supervisor, meet with that supervisor to discuss goals and expectations, and receive a review at the end of the internship. The supervisor may also complete paperwork required by the intern’s school or university. Interns are classified as temporary employee-owners and are not eligible for vacation pay, holiday pay, or other benefits listed in Policy A-5. Temporary employee-owners are expected to follow the same policies and procedures as regular, full-time employee-owners.
