The City of Olathe is seeking an experienced Project Inspection Supervisor to lead inspection activities for public infrastructure projects, including streets, storm and sanitary sewers, water mains, and related improvements. This position supervises and develops inspection staff, coordinates contract inspection personnel, and ensures projects meet City specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards. We’re looking for a knowledgeable, field-focused construction inspection professional who can lead a team and help ensure City infrastructure projects are built safely, accurately, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and municipal standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience inspecting civil construction projects—such as streets, water mains, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers—along with the ability to read engineering plans, address field issues, and work effectively with contractors, engineers, and internal staff. We’re seeking someone who is organized, communicates clearly, and can prioritize multiple active projects. This role is also a people leader. The successful candidate will be comfortable mentoring inspectors, assigning and reviewing work, providing technical guidance, and supporting staff development and performance. The Project Inspection Supervisor is responsible for the completion of technical inspection of streets, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water mains, and other city infrastructure and supervising the work of assigned staff.
