Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
  • Experience performing assembly or in-process inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and assembly specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with torque tools, precision measurement instruments, and inspection documentation systems.
  • Familiarity with nonconformance documentation and inspection plans.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly processes, fasteners, torque sequences, and workmanship standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree, military technical experience, or a mechanical/manufacturing/quality apprenticeship preferred.
  • Leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Active DOE Q Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the charge in driving world-class inspection excellence across assembly operations.
  • Guide a team of skilled inspectors through daily in-process, final, and hold-point inspections, balancing production flow with unwavering compliance.
  • Ensure inspections are executed flawlessly, including verifying torque tool calibration and overseeing precise dimensional checks with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Validate GD&T features such as flatness, perpendicularity, and concentricity.
  • Ensure complete traceability and proper assembly progression throughout each build stage.
  • Oversee alignment of cleanliness, fastener installation, adhesives, and fit-up.
  • Champion accurate inspection records and ensure thorough documentation of nonconformances.
  • Review inspection data before work progresses.
  • Promote proper tool care and calibration practices to sustain a high-performance inspection environment.
