About The Position

The primary responsibility of the PBL TOSA is to coordinate and facilitate the implementation of the STREAM programming and PBL across content and grade levels. The TOSA will support teachers in developing innovative instructional practices that foster creativity and critical thinking, preparing students for college or technical careers. The role includes curriculum development, teacher training, and the promotion of PBL that engages students in interdisciplinary projects.

Requirements

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days from date of hire.
  • Endorsement/Credentials in Science, Technology, Arts, Math, Reading/Research or related instructional area.
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching experience in STREAM education, PBL or core subject area such as Math, ELA, Science or Social Studies.
  • Valid Colorado Driver License.
  • Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing using proper grammar and vocabulary.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in education, technology, science, arts, math, or a related field
  • Experience in arts integration within a STEM framework
  • Experience or training in PBL

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor teachers in integrating arts into STEM subjects, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to instruction through PBL.
  • Lead the development of curriculum units that blend creative arts with scientific inquiry and technological innovation.
  • Provide ongoing professional development for teachers in STREAM education, including workshops, demonstration lessons, and coaching sessions.
  • Work with school leaders and teachers to implement innovative teaching practices that align with PBL.
  • Model best practices in classroom settings, including co-teaching and real-time coaching, to support the adoption of PBL and STREAM.
  • Assist teachers in using assessment data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local arts organizations, businesses, and institutions to support the magnet program and provide students with real-world learning opportunities.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the STREAM program to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with district goals.
  • Perform any and all other responsibilities as assigned by the School Principal or Director of Magnet Schools
