About The Position

Kleinfelder's Geotechnical team is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist for their Southern California Area offices in Laguna Hills or Los Angeles. This role involves performing and developing scopes for field and office tasks, conducting field explorations, sampling, inspection, analysis, and providing technical support. The position requires coordinating tasks and small projects with guidance from senior staff and preparing designs, reports, and calculations for review. The ideal candidate will provide quality technical support on commercial, municipal, transportation, energy, and water projects, with experience on design/build projects being preferred. Strong analytical skills in areas such as soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, foundation design, materials testing, soil improvement techniques, and pavement design are essential. Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations, and heavy civil project design and construction is also preferred.

Requirements

6 to 10 years of related experience or 4 years related experience with a Master's or 2 years of related experience with PhD.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License or Professional Geologist (PG) License
Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work, even under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions.
Candidate must be willing to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.
Candidate must be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail.

Nice To Haves

Experience on design/build projects preferred.
Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations and heavy civil project design and construction are preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred

Responsibilities

Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
Safely conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support under supervision.
Coordinate tasks and small projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
Prepare designs, reports and calculations on complex projects for review.
Provide quality technical support on commercial, municipal, transportation, energy and water projects.
