About The Position

Kleinfelder's Geotechnical team is looking for a Project Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join their Southern California Area team. This role can be based in either the Laguna Hills or Los Angeles, California offices. The position involves performing and developing scopes for field and office tasks, conducting field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and providing technical support. The ideal candidate will also coordinate tasks and small projects, and prepare designs, reports, and calculations for complex projects. Requirements

6 to 10 years of related experience or 4 years related experience with a Master's or 2 years of related experience with PhD.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License or Professional Geologist (PG) License
Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
Willingness to travel and perform field work, even under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions.
Adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail.
Willingness to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.
Satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check after an offer.

Nice To Haves

Experience on design/build projects preferred.
Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations and heavy civil project design and construction are preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
Safely conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support under supervision.
Coordinate tasks and small projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
Prepare designs, reports and calculations on complex projects for review.
Provide quality technical support on commercial, municipal, transportation, energy and water projects.
