About The Position

The PE US Head of Finance leads the Commercial Project Management function and is responsible for the financial and commercial management of the U.S. Project Execution portfolio. In this role, you will partner with Project Execution leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support project performance throughout the project lifecycle. You will oversee forecasting, cash flow, contract management, risk mitigation, compliance, and team development while helping projects achieve their revenue, margin, cash flow, schedule, and contractual objectives. This position may be performed remotely; however, preference will be given to candidates located near an Innomotics office in Alpharetta, GA; Houston, TX; Norwood, OH; or New Kensington, PA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in finance, commercial project management, project controlling, contract management, or related disciplines.
  • 1-3 years of experience leading and developing teams.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, energy, automation, infrastructure, or other project-based business environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project financial management, forecasting, cash flow, billing, contracts, claims, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, audits, taxation, treasury activities, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Proven track record of improving processes, strengthening controls, and driving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Commercial Project Management and project finance function across the U.S. organization.
  • Serve as the primary finance partner to Project Execution and business leadership.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Project Management team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Own project portfolio financial performance, including revenue, margin, cash flow, costs, and balance sheet forecasting.
  • Monitor project performance and identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Lead budgeting, cost center planning, and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure accurate project setup, billing, reporting, and project closeout.
  • Deliver timely and actionable financial reporting to leadership.
  • Manage customer and supplier commercial terms throughout project execution.
  • Partner with Legal, Tax, Procurement, and Sales on contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks.
  • Lead change order, claims, dispute resolution, and commercial risk management activities.
  • Support sourcing and procurement decisions with financial and commercial expertise.
  • Drive project cash flow performance, billing accuracy, and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax requirements.
  • Coordinate treasury-related activities, including hedging and bank guarantees, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, accounting requirements, and commercial governance standards.
  • Support internal and external audits and drive resolution of audit findings.
  • Implement finance and project management requirements in accordance with company standards.
  • Lead project reviews focused on financial performance, risk management, and corrective actions.
  • Present forecasts, risks, opportunities, and project performance to senior leadership.
  • Drive process improvements, reporting automation, and adoption of project management best practices.
