We are looking for a Project Estimator to join our Integrated Project Services team and grow within a rapidly expanding sector. Your main objective will be to advise our work teams and clients on estimating the construction and implementation costs of a variety of projects. We offer a flexible hybrid work model that allows you to work from home and from our Montreal or Quebec office.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or architecture or any relevant training related to estimating
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the field of estimating
  • Experience in various multidisciplinary projects (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
  • Knowledge of estimation software (e.g., Quoterplan, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or MEANS)
  • Ability to read plans and manipulate 3D models
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English
  • Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Member of the Association des estimateurs et des économistes de la construction du Québec (AEÉCQ) and ESCQ or ECCQ certification (an asset)
  • Member of the Canadian Institute of Construction Economists (CICE) and ECC or ÉCA certification (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project meetings for estimation needs.
  • Develop estimates according to revised classes D to A, in UNIFORMAT II format.
  • Analyze plans and specifications to extract quantities.
  • Evaluate overall costs: labor, materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Obtain prices from suppliers and analyze cost variances.
  • Draft the basis of estimation (BOE) with the support of a senior estimator
  • Provide expert support to project teams on estimation issues
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and consult technical experts as needed
  • Conduct specific studies related to estimation and contribute to updating the price database for CIMA+
