As a Project Engineering Technician, you’ll support cabinetry projects from order submission through to installation completion. Working closely with our Engineering, Project Coordination, Sales, Purchasing and Production teams, you’ll prepare and review technical drawings, optimize project files for manufacturing and help ensure each project is accurate, complete and ready for production.

Requirements

  • Comfortable reviewing detailed information and working at a computer for extended periods.

  • Willing to learn and support other departments when required.
  • Vocational, technical or related engineering training and/or 1–3 years of relevant experience is an asset.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents and design specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong mathematical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to enter and transfer information accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design, drafting or visualization software, such as AutoCAD or similar programs, is preferred.
  • Cabinetry, woodworking, construction or manufacturing knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare electronic sketches, drawings and other technical documents based on project requirements and manufacturing specifications.
  • Review and optimize project files using technical drawings and knowledge of cabinet construction.
  • Create and maintain cabinet designs within the electronic catalogue.
  • Gather and verify order-entry documents to ensure project information is complete and accurate.
  • Organize, create and track purchase orders associated with current projects.
  • Review design drawings and technical documentation prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable specifications, quality standards, policies and procedures.
  • Identify, document and report design defects, errors and discrepancies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Production, Sales and Project Coordination staff.
  • Communicate and collaborate with suppliers and cross-departmental team members.
  • Support process improvements and help resolve project or production-related issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
